Vince MacDermot


Vince MacDermot is an artist with architectural training and background. He learned to draw and paint at a young age from Canadian painter Anne Savage. His work is geometric and mathematical. He came to the United States as a child with his family in 1964 where they settled in Staten Island, New York.

Vince MacDermot worked in the architecture profession as a sole practitioner from 1987 to 2008 after serving apprenticeships with architectural and engineering firms in Manhattan and Staten Island.

His art has been shown at Juno Gallery in lower Manhattan and Canvas Institute Gallery, Staten Island, the MvVO Art Show at the WTC Oculus in 2021, DIVERSIA 2021 – PEOPLE Online Exhibition, the upcoming 2021 XIII Florence Biennale and is in collections of private collectors. His work appears in ART FOLIO 2021 - A Curated Collection of the World’s Most Exciting Artists and CAPSULES 2020 - Curatorial Leaders in Contemporary Art – Vol 2.

CURRENT AMERICA, a show of new paintings within the BIG RED NYC series, will open at Canvas Institute Gallery on December 18, 2021 through March 1, 2022.
